Frank Koehn, a prominent environmental, treaty rights, and human rights activist, is a founding member of Save The Waters Edge and the Penokee Hills Education Project in  Northern Wisconsin. He will address the proposed taconite mine in No. Wisc. and protecting the Penokee Hills, Bad River Watershed, and Lake Superior.

Edie Ehlert, a committed advocate for environmental justice, is a Coordinator of the Crawford Stewardship Project in Southwest Wisconsin in the Driftless Wisconsin Area along the Mississippi River. She will discuss local sand mining issues, recent lawsuits, networking, strategies, and sharing resources.

Mike McCabe, one of this state's leading whistle blowers, is executive director of the Wisconsin Democracy Campaign, a nonpartisan watchdog group that fights government corruption and tracks $$ in state politics. He will address the condition of our democracy and how it is being subverted by those using their acquired power.

Local comedian and entertainer, Larry Heagle, will Emcee the event. A breakout/networking/social hour will follow. Refreshments will be served, and door prizes will be awarded, including "The Price of Sand" and "Frac Sand Land" DVDs, and large mine site posters depicting visually shocking, overhead graphic representations of real, behind-the-berms frac sand mining operations in the area. This event is free and open to the public. Donations are appreciated.
