Protecting the Waters and Penokee Hills
Please join us for a walk on Saturday
May 21st at 10:00 a.m.
We will be walking along
the proposed open pit iron ore mine
site to call to attention all that will be changed forever.
We walk to defend water, land, and the beings directly affected
by the mine.
We invite you to meet at
Ballou Creek just a half mile off of Highway 77 to begin our journey. Our
walk will end at Tyler Forks River. The length is approximately 5 1/2 miles. Walk what you are able.
A picnic and talking circles will follow at Upson Park around 2:00 p.m.
Personal Tours will be accessible to those interested in seeing
the site.
Please bring drinking water
and appropriate gear for the walk. Pack a picnic lunch and feel free to join
the talking circles and share your thoughts.
