The Bad River Watershed includes these drainage areas. The watershed is defined by the Penokee Hills on its southern boundary. The proposed Penokee Hills mine will. if it is permitted, have a profound effect on the waters within the watershed and Lake Superior. Mining company offiicials have not determined how the water will be protects and have vowed not to proceed if the waters are threatened. For the most part this vow has not been enough protection.The days of full sped ahead and then trust me, the probllem will be solved are over. Promises such as this are disrespectful to say the least. This vow provides stockholders, lobbyists, and politicians a well crafted message to appease their concerns or to provide the "cover" they need to avoid answering questions from constituents in an honest, straightforward manner.
